USAMMCE Observes African American Heritage Month

U.S. Army Medical Materiel Center, Europe Soldiers and civilians celebrated African American Heritage Month February 28.
The theme for this year's observance was civil rights in America. Lt. Col. Matthew Voyles, USAMMCE deputy commander for operations reminded attendees of the importance of events such as the day's celebration.
The audience viewed displays of black American civil rights leaders and watched a movie about the 50th anniversary of the march on Washington. To close out the celebration, USAMMCE Soldiers recited poems and facts about black civil rights leaders.
Attendees socialized while enjoying refreshments immediately following the event.
