Michael D. Chute Walter Reed Army Institute of Research/Naval Medical Research Center Safety program manager and Biosafety officer received the Richard C. Knudesen Publication Award at the 52nd annual American Biological Safety Association Conference Oct 21.

The Knudesen award is given, when merited, to the author(s) of an article that reports a significant contribution in scientific investigation and/or health and safety.

Chute received the award for his paper "Effectiveness of UV Exposure of Items Contaminated with Anthrax spores in a Class 2 Biosafety Cabinet and Biosafety Level 3 Laboratory Pass-Box."
