USAMRDC serves as Army's medical materiel developer, with responsibility for medical research, development, acquisition and medical logistics management. Work in one of the six medical research laboratories that execute the science and technology program to investigate medical solutions for the battlefield with a focus on various areas of biomedical research, including military infectious diseases, combat casualty care, military operational medicine, medical chemical and biological defense and clinical and rehabilitative medicine. MRDC's expertise in these critical areas helps establish and maintain the capabilities the Army needs to fight and win on the battlefield. The USAMRDC Headquarters is located at Fort Detrick, Frederick, MD, with laboratories located at Fort Detrick, MD; Silver Spring, MD; Fort Novosel, AL; Natick, MA; Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD; and Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, TX.
