The United States Army Dental & Trauma Research Detachment conducted a retirement ceremony in honor of Col. Geoffrey A. Thompson March 24 at the Naval Station Great Lakes. Maj. Gen. James Gilman presents Thompson his certificate of retirement. In April 2010, USADTRD will relocate to the Battlefield Health and Trauma Research Institute, Fort Sam Houston, Texas to start a new chapter as the tri-service research continues under the Command of Col. Robert G. Hale.
