USARIEM Hosts a Visit for Lt. Col. Hiroya Goto
The U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Environmental Medicine hosted a visit, April 9, for Lt. Col. Hiroya Goto, MD (Ophthalmology). Goto is a Medical Liaison Officer from Japan working in the Office of the Surgeon General. The USARIEM tour was part of Goto's familiarization/orientation of the various medical units within the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command.
In addition to the briefs on the USARIEM mission, research divisions and facilities, Goto received an unclassified briefing from Janet Ward, U.S. Army Natick Soldier RD&E Center, on current ballistic protection efforts with an emphasis on headgear and eyewear.
