USAMMA Change of Command Ceremony
Col. Gregory D. Evans transitioned the command of the U.S. Army Medical Materiel Agency to Col. Alejandro (Alex) Lopez-Duke July 20.
USAMMA welcomes its' new commander, Col. Lopez-Duke, who joins the agency after serving as the deputy commander for Administration at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, Fort Campbell, Ky.
Lopez-Duke received his commission through ROTC, Washington and Lee University and went on to receive Master's Degrees from both Baylor University and Boston University. He has earned numerous awards throughout his career to include the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and the Meritorious Service Medal. He is also a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Lopez-Duke said, "USAMMA, you are undoubtedly the finest medical logistics and acquisition team on the planet, and it will be a singular honor to serve you."
Evans is now reassigned as the deputy project manager at the Defense Health Services Systems located in Falls Church, Va.
