Getting to know Fort Detrick
On April 12, the Fort Detrick Alliance, a non-profit organization facilitating "communication and understanding between Federal agencies at Fort Detrick and the community at large" joined the Fort Detrick Community for a tour of the post.
The tour started at the Community Activities Center, where the members of the Alliance had the opportunity to meet representatives from various organizations around Fort Detrick in an exhibit-style forum from 11 a.m.to 3 p.m. The Alliance was divided into smaller groups to take bus tours of the Post. There were 150 members in attendance from small businesses, representatives from local colleges and a representative from the Governor's office.
The interest of the group varied from knowing what the interaction is like between Fort Detrick and the community to knowing what we do to looking for partnering opportunities.
