On Sept. 19, 2013 the 6th Medical Logistics Management Center, located at Fort Detrick, Md., held a deployment ceremony for six members of Detachment 13. The Soldiers will be deploying shortly for a nine month medical logistics mission. The 6th MLMC provides Class VIII commodity and medical maintenance management in multiple theaters; supporting units before they deploy, while they are deployed in theater, and when they return to their home station using standard automated information systems and data communications. Maj. Gen. Joseph Caravalho, commander U.S. Army Medical Research & Materiel Command and Fort Detrick shared encouraging words with the Soldiers and families preparing for deployment. "There are no easy deployments," he said. "We are forever grateful and the efforts of these Soldiers, their families, and friends are not going unnoticed."
