USAMRMC Commanding General Promoted to Two-Star Rank
In front of an audience filled with state officials, military members, friends and family,
Brig. Gen. (Dr.) Joseph Caravalho Jr., Commanding General of the U.S. Army Medical Research
and Materiel Command and Fort Detrick, was promoted to the rank of Major General by Lt. Gen.
Patricia D. Horoho, U.S. Army Surgeon General and commander of the U.S. Army Medical Command,
during a ceremony held at Fort Detrick, Md., July 2.
Horoho (left in photo) placed Two-Star insignias on Caravalho, while the general's wife, Lorraine, also helped to place the insignias on her husband's uniform.
