USAMRMC Commanding General Visits USAMMCE
As part of his orientation tour to units and research laboratories under his command, Brig. Gen. (P) Joseph Caravalho Jr., commanding general of the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command, visited the U.S. Army Medical Materiel Center, Europe March 28-29.
Although his schedule was very tight, the general was given a short briefing and a tour of USAMMCE's different areas. In the Distribution and Transportation Division, USAMMCE's largest division, Caravalho participated in a "ribbon cutting" ceremony to open the newly renovated shipping area. He also had a chance to take a ride on a stock selector to see firsthand how items are picked and put away. During his visit, the commanding general was able to meet with many USAMMCE employees.
Caravalho's visit to USAMMCE concluded with a tour through the Kaiserslautern Army Depot, the proposed relocation site for USAMMCE.
Caravalho assumed command of the USAMRMC in January 2013.
