USAMMCE Bids Farewell to Retirees
USAMMCE staff bade farewell to George Croom and Paul Campbell, two long-time USAMMCE employees with the U.S. Department of State's Humanitarian Assistance program at the USAMMCE headquarters in Pirmasens, Germany, Nov. 13.
In addition to retirement certificates presented by State Department representatives Jerry Oberndorfer and John Post, Croom and Campbell also received the USAMMCE scroll of appreciation, the Commander's award for Civilian Service, and a Letter of Appreciation for Civil Service from President Barack Obama. Campbell also received the Department of State Special Honor Award Certificate.
In an emotional speech, HAP Chief Lou DeAndrade praised his former employees for their dedication. DeAndrade was also awarded the Department of State Special Honor Award Certificate at the event.
The State Department discontinued the HAP program Sept. 30. The program delivered medical equipment to the former states of the Soviet Union. It supported 277 major medical facilities and 274 primary care facilities providing $526.7 million worth of medical equipment to the countries it supported.
