Lend a Helping Hand
The Gains in the Education of Mathematics and Science program is seeking volunteers for the 2015 summer program at Hood College in Frederick, Maryland.
The program sponsored by the U.S. Army aims to foster student's motivation to study science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The GEMS program makes math and science fun by engaging students in a variety of hands-on experiments.
The GEMS program is looking for volunteers that would be willing to donate at least 30 minutes of their time. Individuals can volunteer for a variety of areas including but not limited to: lunch with the students, career presentations, training college students on laboratory skills, lab procedures, and content, and even helping to move supplies.
