USAMMDA's Lee Awarded Best Brief of the Year
Presenting complex issues to leadership is never an easy task. Jaime Lee, product manager for U.S. Army Medical Materiel Development Activity Medical Support Systems Project Management Office, recently prepared and presented a briefing on the Rigid Wall Shelter Modernization to the Decision Gate. For this briefing, Lee was awarded Best Brief of the Year, at the sixth annual Decision Gate program awards ceremony.
The Decision Gate program was developed to provide support for the Department of Defense's acquisition process. This program is an opportunity for research and development to collaborate in an effort to move products to the Soldier. The annual award ceremony is an opportunity to acknowledge the people behind the efforts. Winners are all selected through a nomination process.
Lee's brief was a way forward recommendation for the Rigid Wall Shelter program. The briefing showcased Rigid Wall Shelter capabilities in the Combat Support Hospitals, focusing on areas such as refurbishment, incorporating new technologies and energy efficiency.
There were many complex issues affecting the program which Lee successfully communicated, and in turn, provided sound recommendations for leadership consideration and decision.
"This is about saving Soldier's lives," said Lee adding that this presentation is an accumulation of about ten years.
"Jaime's dedication and commitment made the briefing so successful," said Steve Hawbecker, project manager for Medical Support Systems Project Management Office at USAMMDA.
His combination of outstanding program knowledge and the ability to articulate complex issues and strategies enabled Lee to present a decision brief that resulted in a clear way forward for the RWS modernization.
Awards were presented by U.S. Medical Research and Material Command Principal Assistant for Acquisition Dr. Kenneth Bertram.
"This was a well-deserved award for Jaime," said Hawbecker. "When you talk to him about rigid wall shelters, you get a sense of the pride and dedication he has for his work. That passion, combined with the Decision Gate acquisition process, makes for a winning combination which benefits our customer, the Soldier."
