USAMRMC Announces Best Warrior Competition Winners
The U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command announced the winners of the 2016 Best Warrior Competition during a ceremony held at Fort Detrick, Maryland, April 1. The U.S. Army Medical Materiel Center, Europe's Staff Sgt. Ilker Irmak received the honor of Best Warrior Noncommissioned Officer and Specialist Victor J. Galvez from the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense received Best Soldier.
During the week of March 27-April 1, 18 Soldiers and NCOs from across the command competed in the Best Warrior Competition. The winners will now go on to represent the USAMRMC at the MEDCOM-level competition to be held the first week of May at Joint Base San Antonio, Texas.
The weeklong competition provides special recognition to those USAMRMC Soldiers demonstrating outstanding military achievement; recognizing those individuals who best represent not only U.S. Army Medical Command values, but Army values as a whole.
The 2016 USAMRMC Best Warrior competition included a board appearance, written essay, written exam, Army Physical Fitness Test, day and night land navigation, obstacle course, foot march, mystery event and tactical combat casualty care.
