The U.S. Army Medical Materiel Development Activity hosted this year's 2017 Fort Detrick Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month Observance at the Community Activities Center, June 22.

Celebrated each year in the month of June, LGBT Pride Month recognizes and celebrates the proud legacy of LGBT men and women who are an integral part of the fabric of our Nation and Army. This year's guest speaker was Ms. Karen Kendra Holmes, a dedicated advocate for the LGBT community and 2017 selected "Top 50 Successful Transgender Americans You Need to Know" by LGBTQ Nation.
