USAMRMC to Host Industry Briefing and Small Business Conference
(Fort Detrick, Md.) - The U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command will host an Industry and Small Business Conference April 26, from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Hager Hall in the Clarion Hotel in Hagerstown, Md.
Jerome Maultsby, associate director of USAMRMC's Office of Small Business Programs said, "This event will help the regional business community better understand what's on the horizon -- the projected and anticipated USAMRMC procurements for the remainder of fiscal year 2011 and, in some instances, the upcoming fiscal year 2012."
The daylong event's packed agenda encompasses a broad sweep of information, with program managers and commanders presenting project overviews. Yet, it allows time for vendors to exhibit their products and services and for business leaders to connect with key people at USAMRMC.
Those interested in attending can register online at www.regonline.com/APBIConference until April 19. Onsite registration will be available during the day of the conference. Fees are $50 for attendees, $99 for small business exhibitors and $249 for large business exhibitors. Free parking is available behind the Clarion Hotel, which is also the entrance to Hager Hall.
Maultsby encourages business alliances by empowering business firms with the required knowledge to compete for procurements. His office supports small businesses that provide relevant products, services and solutions for research, acquisition, logistics and technology that benefit the nation's warfighter.
The contract process can be complex, the competition intense. Maultsby understands that competing for government procurements for small business firms can be daunting and says this particular event should help demystify the process for both prospective and incumbent contractors.
"We want to give attendees and vendors a chance to learn about opportunities and hopefully to talk with some of the government representatives," says Maultsby. "It demonstrates the Command's commitment to support the businesses throughout the region while discovering what kind of business solutions they have that complement our mission."
