USARIEM Hosts 3rd International Congress on Soldiers' Physical Performance, Aug. 18-21

The U.S Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine, part of the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command, invites you to the 2014 3rd International Congress on Soldiers' Physical Performance (ICSPP) Aug. 18-21 at the Westin Boston Waterfront in Boston, Massachusetts.

The 2014 ICSPP will deliver four days of networking and Soldier health performance research at its best, including symposia and feature science sessions by international partners and world renowned speakers. ICSPP's 2014 theme will focus on performance research, with specific emphasis on a variety of topics to include:

• Improving, restoring, and maintaining Soldier health: performance triad vision
• Physiological implications, performance assessment and risk mitigation strategies for women in combat-centric occupations
• Physiological readiness and resilience: scientific underpinnings for the pillars of military preparedness
• Human performance optimization (HPO) strategies: integrating research, education, and clinical services line of efforts for Soldier readiness
• Protection versus physiology: interactions among physiological regulation and protective equipment
• Physiological adaptations and military applicability to low-volume, high-intensity interval training in health and disease
• Concurrent strength and aerobic training modes for developing physical performance
• Are there ethical limitations for improving physical performance in Soldiers?
• Warfighter readiness roundtable: aerobic and strength fitness and influence on military physical readiness

In addition to carrying on the rich legacy of information exchange and dialogue among international partners, the 2014 ICSPP promises participants will find the scientific programming of this meeting to be at the cutting edge of military physical performance optimization and injury prevention.
