USAMRICD is the Department of War's leading institute for medical chemical defense research, focused on protecting Warfighters from chemical threats. Its work includes the development of bio-scavenger pretreatments for nerve agent exposure, which provide protection for up to two weeks, and the Rapid Opioid Countermeasure System, a naloxone auto-injector designed to treat opioid intoxication in military settings.
